Space Man
Spaceman was the first colorway imagined for the SW0284 collection. Inspired by Saturn, astronomy, and humanity's fascination with exploration, it represents the idea that time is measured not only on the wrist, but also in the movement of the heavens.
The textured black dial reflects the depth of space itself. Tiny variations across the surface evoke distant stars, meteorites, and the endless darkness beyond our atmosphere. The blue and orange 24-hour register draws inspiration from spaceflight equipment while naturally representing the transition between day and night.
Design
Inspired by the night sky, the textured dial adds depth and character to the surface. Tiny variations catch the light differently, creating a subtle reminder of stars, meteorites, and the vastness of space.
Our signature Arabic/Arabic California dial combines Eastern Arabic and Western Arabic numerals in a single layout. Created by Saturn Watches' founder — an Arab designer living in California — it reflects two worlds brought together through typography.
The three-dimensional indices are sharply cut and clearly defined, giving the dial stronger depth and structure. Their raised form improves visibility from different angles, while the lume remains visible from any angle — not only from straight ahead.
Generous lume application ensures clear readability after dark. The oversized markers and hands were designed from the beginning with nighttime visibility in mind, filled with Swiss BGW9 Super-LumiNova.
At 39 mm with a 47 mm lug-to-lug length, the SW0284 was designed for balance and versatility. Shown here on a 7-inch wrist, it offers strong presence without feeling oversized — comfortable for everyday wear and suitable for a wide range of wrist sizes.
The caseback is engraved with an astrolabe-inspired celestial map, honoring the instruments once used to track time, navigate oceans, and observe the heavens — a reminder that timekeeping began long before the wristwatch.
The case was designed as a simple frame for the dial. Its bezel-free unibody construction minimizes visual distractions, keeping the dial the focal point while preserving the watch's clean circular form and removing unnecessary weight.
