Most watches lead with the case. This one was built to disappear behind the dial.

I The Brief

The brief was simple from the start: the dial is the story, the case is the frame.

It holds the dial perfectly, then gets out of the way. Never competing, never raising its voice.

Almost every decision here is an act of restraint.

II The Monobloc

That’s why it’s a single piece of metal.

No bezel, no extra ring, no seams breaking up the form. Just one clean band of 316L surgical-grade steel, machined as close to a true monobloc as a serviceable quartz watch allows.

There’s a caseback, but only so the battery can be changed easily. Crystal, case, caseback: three pieces, nothing more.

III The Size

The size was decided entirely by the dial. We landed at 39mm.

Not a fashion number, but the smallest case that lets the dial breathe and the largest that doesn’t crowd it.

A millimeter either way and the balance breaks.

IV The Shape

The case is built around a circle, and I didn’t want the lugs to interrupt that circle. I wanted them to finish it.

So they’re angular: they complete the curve instead of cutting across it.

And for the lugs themselves, I’ve always loved twisted lugs on chronographs, so I drew our own version. Original in feel, and at home on both leather and steel.
